Wide Burr Oak Vessel
In 2020, we watched this Oak Burr being sliced off as the first cut of an English Oak log from Staffordshire. Since then we’ve had it drying in our workshop until turning it this year.
The piece is a smaller section, but still shows all the classic character of an Oak Burr - bark inclusion, pippy knots, colour formations and wonderful swirling grain, as well as some rippling. We’ve kept as much of the natural character as possible and stable cracks remain untouched in the piece.
The unusual enclosed shape hides within it some wonderful pippy oak patterning - a bowl that is interesting from every single angle!
Diameter 22.5cm
Height 9cm
